What is a Marketing Funnel

Apr 6

What is a funnel for marketing and why is it important for every online marketer create one?

It is a marketing strategy designed to attract potential customers to your site. This is a sales process in which someone visits your website to look up information that will solve their problem. You can build a relationship through specific tools.

This will help you better understand each visitor's needs. This in turn will push you to provide the most accurate information to all your users. Once you gain the trust of a potential customer the visitor will feel more confident purchasing items. This visitor will then become a customer.

In time the majority of customers become extremely loyal customers who are ready to buy any item that you promote on your site. A marketing funnel is comprised of the various stages of the sales process that will transform a regular website visitor into an extremely loyal customer who is willing to purchase everything you throw at them.

This is the main objective of every online marketer. This can be achieved easily by utilizing a funnel that is well-designed.

You have your marketing resources catching people's attention and drawing them into your funnel. The funnel is opened when they fill in the form that you have on your PERSONAL lead capture page. I use the word "personal" because no one is going to opt in to your lead capture for business page. They want an executive to join them and not a small-scale business.

The page for lead capture is where they enter the funnel. If they click on the "Sign up now" or the "Enter here" buttons, they are in a position to enter a new universe of marketing through networks.

The most important thing is that they're qualified to do it. It's their choice. You haven't sold them anything, except that you're an instructor, leader and someone who will help them get more leads, and more money into their business.

This is the way a typical funnel functions.

You can offer a free product for your "front-end" to draw and qualifie people interested in your offerings. To get your product for free, sign up (also called opt-in) and give your email address and name. In turn you'll include them on your email list.

You now have these people in your email list and you can offer them similar offers that might interest them.

Signing up for the complimentary offer will lead you to a webpage that has low-price deals or what's called a "trip wire offer". At this point, they are moving to the "back end" of the funnel.

If they buy the low priced offer then they will be taken to another related offer at a higher price (normally called an upsell). If the buyer buys this higher priced offer, they'll be transferred to the next product with a higher cost. This process can continue for several more.
